Technology specialist Tom Colclough checks on the crops inside Canada's first agricultural biodome at a farm in the city of Surrey near Vancouver, Canada, April 1, 2015. The 3,000-square-meter biodome is a closed, contained environment. Panels are created by using a special plastic film that can provide nearly total insulation from surrounding environment to avoid pollution and disease. Plants can grow without soil and consume 10 time less water than conventional farming. This biodome was built by a local technology company which aimed to help the world food shortage problem. snapress@snakorea.com
